Christ the Good Shepherd Parish

Christ the Good Shepherd Parish is the result of the unification of the parishes in the City of Oswego, NY – St. Paul, St. Joseph, St. Stephen the King, St. Peter, the territory of St. Mary of the Assumption, Sacred Heart in Scriba, and the closed parishes of St. John the Evangelist and St. Louis. The parishes were brought together as Christ the Good Shepherd Parish on July 1, 2019 and St. Mary of the Assumption was made an oratory/personal parish for the Latin Mass community. In August 2021, St. Mary of the Assumption was also made a diocesan shrine for the diocese of Syracuse.
The territory of the parish of St. Mary of the Assumption is encompassed in the territory of the parish of Christ the Good Shepherd. As the territorial parish for the City of Oswego and Town of Scriba, Christ the Good Shepherd honors our deep tradition and sacrifices of those who dedicated themselves to spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ to our families by coming together to ensure our Catholic Faith will be shared for generations to come.
